BBC TV series this production promises to include all the trappings
off WWII Walmington-On-Sea's Home Guard: Gas Masks, Bren Guns,
Morris Dancing (?) and the arrival of a German U-Boat crew.
There was be plenty of opportunities for audience participation as Musical Director Julie Watterson is including a selection of 1940's musical numbers in the production. Wellington District Theatre Federation Adjudicator Nerissa Moore was very impressed with Tawa's recent production giving big ticks in many areas of the production including the acting skills of the cast, set design and peripherals such as Air Raid Shelter Demos and Sing-a-longs. READ HER REVIEW. Selling to packed houses Dad's Army was wildly successful show. Audiences asked Director Rose Hudson where she found a real Scotsman (Fraser). Praise was heaped upon other cast members. For example, Captain Mainwaring was astounded by the attention he received from adoring fans. However, he was still not forgiven by his wife for taking Mrs Fox out for Coffee! Meanwhile, backstage Private Pike was found backstage confused about whether he was singing "boy" or "girl" in the Floral Dance song. The WAC at times stole the show with their songs and informative Air Raid and Gas Mark demonstrations. The production ran from 9 - 19th June at the Linden Social Centre, Lynden Ave, Linden |
